The Role
As the Head of Facultative Casualty for Europe, you will be responsible for creating and growing WTW’s facultative casualty book across the region. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a critical area, leveraging your expertise to expand our footprint, build new relationships, and develop innovative risk transfer solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Establishing and developing WTW’s facultative casualty book in Europe, with a focus on business growth and market presence. Driving strategic initiatives to identify and capture new opportunities, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. Building and nurturing relationships with cedants, reinsurers, and other key stakeholders to secure profitable partnerships. Educating and mobilizing WTW teams across Europe to integrate facultative casualty solutions into their offerings, ensuring alignment with client needs. Negotiating optimal terms and conditions for facultative casualty reinsurance placements, securing the best outcomes for clients. Preparing and presenting comprehensive submissions to reinsurers, tailored to meet client and cedant requirements. Overseeing governance and administration of facultative casualty reinsurance deals, ensuring compliance and smooth operations. Staying ahead of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes to position WTW as a leader in the European facultative casualty market.About You
The ideal candidate for this role is an entrepreneurial leader with a strong background in facultative casualty reinsurance and a proven ability to build and grow business portfolios. You thrive in dynamic environments and are skilled at forging lasting relationships.
Key qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience within the insurance industry). Extensive experience in facultative casualty reinsurance, with a demonstrated ability to develop business opportunities. Deep understanding of insurance and reinsurance principles, risk assessment, and pricing. Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities and execute strategic plans. Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English (additional European languages are a plus).
