The role
As Head of Finance, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be a key member of the Resilience Senior Management Team in supporting the Training Finance Director and the Resilience Director in providing financial leadership to several different training businesses.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll liaise with the Finance Business Services, Operations and Senior Management teams, lead and ensure accounts, budgets, forecasts and strategic plans are accurate as well as manage the production of monthly management accounts, be responsible for the management of the customer facing balance sheet control account reconciliations and rectification actions required to resolve and be the link between Finance and each of the contracts.

 

Supporting identified continuous improvement projects on behalf of the Finance function Identifying opportunities to improve the service. Providing underlying finance and wider business support to the Metropolitan Police Service, London Fire Brigade, Fire Colleges and MOD Apprenticeship senior management teams Manage the production of monthly management accounts including site commentaries Provide support to the monthly reviews of new business/projects/pricing and the tracking of 


This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home. This role can be based from Bristol, London or our Plymouth sites but travel between sites is required.

 

Essential experience of the Head of Finance:

Ability to understand and manipulate data to present clear and concise financial messages for review. Ability to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved or surpassed. Comfortable and confident presenting at board level. Ability to work cross functional and collaboratively with senior non finance people. Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Office 2010 suite of applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio and Outlook. Experience of Finance IT applications (e.g. SAP, NAV (Navision, IFS etc.)

 

Qualifications for the Head of Finance:

Fully Qualified with professional finance qualification

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
