Description Robert Half is looking for a Controller for a client in the south suburbs. The Controller will be responsible for managing the financial health of the company by administering all accounting operations. The ideal candidate will combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Responsibilities: - Oversee and manage all general ledger activity. - Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end close process. - Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation. - Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports. - Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations. - Direct the finance team to ensure they are focused and aligned with business objectives. - Manage and respond to all financial inquiries of Executive Management and Board Directors. - Monitor the financial performance of the company and report findings and recommendations to the executive leadership team. - Implement operational best practices. Successful Controller will have the following qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field and CPA are required. - At least 5 years of proven experience in a financial management role within a manufacturing environment, with a deep understanding of financial trends and patterns. - Proficiency in accounting software, Syteline and Tableau preferred and advanced Excel is required - Excellent planning and organizational skills; able to work with minimal supervision. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of maintaining strong relationships with company directors, senior managers, and external regulated bodies. This position offers a salary range of $120-130K annually with a 10-15% bonus potential. It also comes with the following benefits: Medical, dental, vision, paid time off and holiday pay. Requirements • Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in a financial management role within the rubber manufacturing industry or a related field. • Mastery of all accounting functions is mandatory for this role. • Applicants should have proven experience in auditing, ensuring the accuracy and legality of the company's financial records. • Familiarity with budget processes, including planning, development, and execution, is a key requirement. • The role requires expertise in month-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. • Experience with Syteline ERP is highly desired, as this system is integral to our financial operations. • Proficiency in Tableau is necessary, as the role involves creating and managing financial data visualizations. • Candidates must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, charts, and other advanced features.
