As a Head of Finance Partnering, Vaccines you will lead finance partnering at management level within Japan, driving the strategic business plan, supporting strategy and decision making with critical business insights. The role will provide you the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career, including some of the following Strategy, Business Planning and Performance Management Key partner in supporting the Vaccines strategy, support development of overall strategy for Japan and drive the strategic business plan Full P&L understanding and management (Business performance and risk management) Understand in detail the Japan market dynamics and customer segments Strategic portfolio analysis, market understanding, brand portfolio analysis and scenario planning, and management Product profitability, margin enhancement and ROI optimization Key partner with the business bringing insight driven influence on the core commercial cycle Support, challenge and influence resource allocation optimization Support development of a strong finance partnering organization Lead and assist with management presentations and business briefings preparations Cross functional matrix experience and management Work internationally and with our global businesses Key responsibilities include supporting the Japan Finance Director on the following: Strategy, Business Planning & Performance Management Full P&L understanding, management and accountability for Japan (business performance and risk management) Strategic portfolio analysis, market understanding, brand portfolio analysis and scenario planning Work with the Japan Team to build P&L forecasts incorporating CCC and ROI and managing BU performance Lead monthly performance reviews and financial performance of key brands with respective BU leadership team Core Commercial Cycle Key partner throughout the Japan DRM process, bringing insight and leading to data driven decision making, underpinned by market and customer understanding, including understanding of market growth, market share and other key performance factors Pricing Optimization and market dynamics Partner across the business and with experts in our Market Access group to support pricing governance and market access strategies Understand overall market dynamics, relative market positioning of products against competitors, market access situation and future trends; Provide recommendations for pricing decisions Assess ROI Lead investment modelling opportunities to support the business in making investment decisions when opportunities arise Lead scenario planning to maximize use of resources based on ROI analysis Margin & Cashflow Enhancement Key player to deliver margin enhancement initiatives through innovative cost control; using internal and external benchmarking (where available) to understand best-in-class cost management Support the optimization of controllable SG&A cost Required Skill and Experience 1. Minimum Level of Education: Degree in Accounting, Economics or Business (or different degrees with Business or Finance qualification) Area of Specialisation: Consulting/Management/Finance Why is this Level of Education Required?: Requires solid finance and analytics background 2. Preferred Level of Education: MBA Area of Specialisation: Business or Finance Why is this Level of Education Preferred?: Combining a consulting and strategic knowledge with finance and business acumen is key for success in the role Minimum Level of Job-Related Experience required: Understanding of vaccines & pharmaceutical Industry, previous international exposure and commercial finance experience Experience of working in a business advisory environment and ability to clearly presenting insights and complex business and financial information in a simple and compelling way to non-finance audiences Excellent influencing and engagement. Ability to engage senior stakeholders and challenge based on expertise and personal credibility Experience of working in matrix organizations and complex change management projects. 10+ years financial support experience, preferable with Pharmaceutical Industry experience Application of Knowledge The candidate should have an ROI technique knowledge and mindset orientation. Problem Solving & Innovation Ability to flexibly adapt financial modeling solutions to different issues/opportunities on price analysis to be managed Ability to understand different business drivers and to recommend the most efficient allocation of resources Example: Support ring fence resources behind a launch and able to support re-allocation of resources based on risk judgment to meet overall business and financial targets Interaction Ability to influence beyond formal authority levels Example: even if business focus is primarily on sales, the incumbent should be able to discuss and influence the level of resourcing allocated to support asset growth and profitability. Ability to influence decision making process across geographies Example: interface with Global Therapeutic Areas, Commercial and Finance teams from the different countries within Japan and global finance hubs, characterized by different background and cultural approach.
