Our Team
The Financial Crime Technology Team are part of Enterprise Systems (ES), aligned to our Financial Crime business function, delivering technology solutions and maintaining and upgrading the technology systems that support our Financial Crime customers and colleagues. Our ongoing commitment to delivering further Financial Crime technology solutions ensures that we continuously enhance our capabilities in this area implementing technology that addresses emerging threats and regulatory requirements and provides robust support to our customers and colleagues in the Financial Crime sector.
We’ve an opportunity for senior leader to join the Financial Crime Technology Team and work with other senior colleagues across the Enterprise Systems organisation. You’ll oversee the successful delivery of key initiatives to meet business and regulatory goals, and to ensure effective technological oversight of the various systems within your area of responsibility. Whilst leading and developing a team of Project, Business Change and Technology Managers, you’ll also be responsible for budgets, risk management, the definition of the technology roadmap and ensuring that the systems in your area of responsibility are maintained effectively from a security and technology perspective.
What you’ll be doing
Developing viable programme roadmaps and business cases that will support our technology and business strategy. Owning and delivering your agreed change programme ensuring that solutions align with business, customer and regulatory requirements together with wider Group controls, policies & procedures. Either directly delivering technology solutions or working closely with aligned ES Engineering resources to deliver solutions. Providing ownership of Change and BAU budget for your area of responsibility. Working with the Financial Crime business, assisting with technical oversight and guidance of other Financial Crime projects to ensure that these meet Virgin Money standards for delivery. Identifying and securing resources to work on the programme / projects; defining clear roles and responsibilities, including responsibility for production of all deliverables. Engaging with senior stakeholders - providing progress reports on current deliveries but also looking ahead. You’ll build a strong and positive relationship with Senior Management through collaboration and transparency. Providing team leadership to Change & Delivery professionals, including technical resources, providing a positive environment to develop colleagues. Ensuring that technology within the scope of the role is adequately maintained, including management of technical debt, infrastructure and application upgrades, and vulnerability management. Working with technical members of your teams and the wider VM service management functions to deal with technical incidents and to be responsible for the overall application service to the business area stakeholders Managing risk across the domain, covering both operational/technology risk and project delivery risk. Working with architecture to determine suitability of current architecture and overall direction for programmes and applications Overseeing Supplier Relationship Management for the 3rd party products usedWe need you to have
Strong understanding of Economic Crime concepts and technologies. Experience of successfully leading teams and driving activity.Relevant experience of delivering large, complex projects / programmes or projects within the financial or other regulated sectors. Great stakeholder management skills and ability to influence at all levels as you’ll be in regular dialogue with Senior Management. Experience of managing budgets and financial forecasts. Proven communication ability with a level of skill in the breaking down of complex issues so that they can be easily understood by all levels of stakeholders. Proven ability to motivate and lead teams of change delivery and technical staff across multiple sites and project, including the ability to get involved as required at a technical level either to help define strategy or actively manage discussions around technical issues. Ability to understand IT architecture and software delivery considerations to support oversight of programme solutions and the resolution of technical issues during change delivery and BAU incidents.
