Job Description

The Head of Forecasting is responsible to drive functional excellence in forecasting across global, regional, and segment teams that will identify critical business issues and opportunities for the strategic direction of GE HealthCare. This team, in collaboration with functions such Integrated Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, and Lean to deliver fit-for-purpose forecasts to enable better decision-making and business planning across GE HealthCare. 

The team is composed of experts in forecasting, decision intelligence, AI, and financial engineering.  They will operate as the COE for forecasting across the organization.  This person reports to the Head of Enterprise AI.

As leader of the group, this individual will be responsible for transforming GE HealthCare’s enterprise capabilities in forecasting, including for developing strategy related to forecasting methodologies, processes, and technologies that will accelerate insight generation, enhance decision-making and planning across the organization.  They will partner with leaders in Integrated Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, and Lean to identify business needs that shape this strategy.  They will lead the development and implementation of forecasting standards, tools, systems and standardized practices and guidelines to address the identified needs.  In addition, this position will hire and lead a team of forecasters with broad technical skills within this domain to deliver on these needs.

The leader is also a member of Enterprise AI Leadership team and the Extended CDAO Leadership team.  They will collaborate across the team to build deliver on broad data, AI, and digital organizational capabilities.  He/she guides senior leadership and cross-functional executives in relevant issues and represents the department more broadly at the enterprise level. 

Responsibilities:

Shape the organizational mindset to envision the possibilities for forecasting as a tool to identify risks and opportunities that drive action-oriented, strategic decision-making and planning Operate as a thought leader and visionary, with the ability to evangelize strategic use of forecasting, AI, and advanced analytics in decision-making and planning.  Establish centers of excellence within forecasting.  Define and manage forecasting processes rooted in decision making from idea to implementation, ensuring that the solutions support the business objectives, and ensure risks and uncertainty are appropriately captured, while being fit-for-purpose. Accountable for the roadmap of forecasting strategy.  Responsible for integrity of all relevant resources on forecasting, including training materials, tools, frameworks, etc as measured by the enablement of business outcomes.  Responsible for proposing methodology, process improvements, and technology solutions and getting buy-in from functional leaders / squad leaders, securing investments, and leading teams to implement such solutions.Establish and animate a global forecasting network / community of practice aimed at sharing best practices, innovating, inspiring, driving efficiencies, and supporting other forecasting organizationsCollaborate with other planning functions to ensure that coordination, communication, and delivery of planning activities is reliable, accurate, and fit for purpose   Develop a culture and environment where forecasting managers thrive; oversee the development of competency models, career paths, and onboarding and training programs for the individuals in the groupCollaborate with existing analytics teams, as well as key stakeholders, to identify existing, or new, areas that can benefit significantly from enhancements to forecasting methodologies, training or toolsProvide technical leadership to team members and vendor resources. Manage vendors as appropriate.               Stay abreast of market evolutions and dynamics regarding GE HealthCare’s position in industry and therapeutic areas, proactively update forecasts with material market eventsLead the consolidation of global forecasts and maintain an up-to-date view of the GE HealthCare’s portfolio’s key drivers of risks and opportunities in the short, mid and long-term, partnering with relevant Global functions.  Engage with Finance, Integrated Supply Chain, and Commercial in the preparation and presentation of results around planning events.

Key Qualifications and Experience Required: 



We seek an accomplished leader, with demonstrated success in leading teams and guiding key decisions through analytical insight.  Specifically, they will possess the following:

8+ years of healthcare data and analytics experience, with 2+ years of management experience Masters/PhD in Business, AI, Decision Intelligence, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Life Sciences graduate-level degreePrevious experience leading & managing strategy development, forecasting, or consulting  related functions.  Strong leadership skills: excellent team management, coaching and mentoring skills; superior planning, process and influencing skillsDemonstrated ability to be an effective change management leader for direct reportsExceptional structured problem solving and strategic agility abilitiesIn-depth knowledge of forecasting, including patient-based approaches, time-series forecasting, probabilistic simulation, financial modelling, analogue analysis, and regarded by others as an expert in his/her field, as well as proven experience managing the alignment of forecasting/analytical methodologies across commercial, supply chain, and finance and driving resolution of large scale business challenges and complex data problemsIn-depth knowledge of decision analysis, including DQ, MCDA, systems thinking, problem structuring methods, process facilitation, cognitive biases etc. - and regarded by others as an expert in his/her fieldKnowledge of business analytics and associated practices relevant to the healthcare/MedTech/pharmaceutical/biotech industries (e.g., experience with secondary market research data and primary market research)In-depth knowledge of the MedTech industry, development, supply chain, and commercialization processes and broad therapeutic area knowledge relevant to GE HealthCare’s pipeline and marketed portfolio Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding qualitative, as well as any relevant quantitative, targets and goalsAbility to communicate forecasting and technical ideas and results to non-technical stakeholders in written and verbal form, including experience and level of comfort presenting concepts to senior executivesStrong consulting skills: active listening skills, ability to extract and quickly process key information, summarize key needs or interests of clients, and provide targeted and appropriate insights and recommendationsStrong interpersonal skills and collaboration: has proven abilities to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional, often virtual and matrix teamsImpeccable ethics and integrityBusiness travel is required for regular internal and external business meetings

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $200,000.00-$300,000.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
