Who Do We Support?

Our Corporate Functions, Markets & Financing (CFMF) Business Risk Management team provides first line risk management support for the Global Markets and Global Credit Finance Business Units as well as the Corporate Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal and Enterprise Risk Management Corporate Functions

Global Markets aligned Risk Advisors within the Business Risk Management team are embedded within the first line of defense to both drive a strong culture of risk excellence and ensure business line controls for Global Markets are designed and operating effectively. The Head of Global Markets Business Risk Advisory, Managing Director will report into the CFMF Business Risk Management Executive (BRME) and lead the full complement of product aligned Business Risk Advisors (approximately 35 FTEs) in executing the following responsibilities in support of Global Markets products and business unit leadership.

Serve as a Culture Champion for Risk Excellence by leading the Global Markets Business Risk Committee, identifying emerging risks, supporting self-identification of issues, recognizing training needs and operating as the primary point of escalation for any non-financial risk concerns by the senior leadership in Global MarketsLead the Business Risk Advisors through the execution of applicable risk assessments, operational key risk indicator (ORKI) identification and oversight and resulting control design and implementation activitiesMaintain a complete view of all Assurance events, Audit and regulatory Exams scheduled for Global Markets and assist senior leaders with preparation, guidance and supportEnsure risk management and internal controls are assessed and adapted appropriately within Global Markets transformation and change management initiativesEnsure Global Markets has ongoing adherence to Issues & Incidents policy requirements and serve in a review and challenge role from identification through the completion of remediation activities by Global Markets first line process ownersFacilitate consistent execution of first- and second-line central risk program and corporate policy requirements within Global Markets

 Education & Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field15+ years of experience in risk, compliance and/or audit functions within the financial industry inclusive of management experienceAdditional experience as a first line process owner in a large financial institution preferredDemonstrated success in strengthening the internal control environment and risk mitigation in a prior first or second line roleKnowledge and understanding of regulatory, operational, market, and technology risks and risk management frameworks applicable to financial servicesKnowledge of regulatory requirements and expectations for Global Markets within the State Street organization

Salary Range:

$170,000 - $267,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
