Focus of the Role
At Telstra, our creative excellence drives customer connections, brand growth, and innovation in the category. This role is critical in evolving our in-house creative function into a world-class creative agency at the heart of the Telstra’s marketing team. The Head of Inhouse Creative will work alongside our Head of Agency to transform the team into a creative powerhouse, fostering conceptual thinking and delivering exceptional work across digital, CRM, social and multi-channel integrated campaigns.

What You’ll Do
The Telstra Consumer - Marketing Chapter Area oversees Telstra's marketing operations, including brand management, advertising and product marketing.
In the role, you’ll lead all things creative within Telstra’s inhouse creative agency and collaborate with other external partners to execute integrated, multi-channel campaigns. In this senior leadership position, you will lead a cross-functional team of creatives with unlimited potential to shape the future of the Telstra brand, while owning the evolution of the core creative function. You’ll bridge creative strategy, craft and execution. You’ll help to align creative output with business goals and ensure every customer touchpoint embodies Telstra's commitment to creative excellence.

Key areas of the role will be:
Elevating Telstra’s creative standards across all touchpoints, including CRM, digital, and integrated campaigns.
Provide visionary direction to the in-house creative team, inspiring and mentoring talent to foster a collaborative and innovative culture.
Collaborate with the executive team, CMO and senior managers to develop creative strategies aligned with Telstra’s brand objectives.
Partner with strategic managers to interpret customer insights and craft data-driven, humanised creative solutions.
Champion a forward-thinking approach, leveraging emerging trends and technologies, including generative AI.
Forge a customer-centric creative process by connecting insights and strategy to actionable, high-impact creative executions.
Be hands-on with digital-first solutions, particularly video content, editorial storytelling, and omnichannel touchpoints.
Drive innovative thinking and breakthrough concepts, leveraging trends in generative AI, content personalisation, and user experience
Establish creative frameworks that ensure seamless collaboration, efficient reviews, and timely delivery under campaign deadlines.
Act as brand guardian, responsible for all creative work, ensuring outputs meet Telstra’s brand guidelines and strategic plans
Foster strong alignment with marketing and strategic leads to ensure priorities are clear to inform briefs and creative solutions.

Ensuring customer insights and data informs strategies & creative solutions.
About You
You'll feel equally at ease engaging with the c-suite as you do creative ideas, frameworks and diving into the craft of every execution with your team.
To be successful in the role, you'll also need:
Strong leadership experience in creative roles, preferably within an agency (in-house/ external) or innovative brand environments.
Demonstrated ability to balance conceptual creativity with operational and business acumen.
A hands-on style and be willingness to improve the creative process
Expertise in guiding multi-disciplinary teams and managing complex projects.
Proven experience in digital, social, CRM, and integrated ATL marketing campaigns.
Outstanding team vision and team-building capabilities.
Strong project management and senior stakeholder management abilities.
Proven forward-thinking approach, leveraging emerging trends and technologies, including GenAI
Advanced creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
