Our Legal and Compliance department plays a crucial role in considering and co-creating the best methods for business from a strategic and comprehensive perspective. As a strategic business partner, it is essential to actively think about and implement the necessary risk management to achieve business goals. This role requires a proactive involvement in understanding how Legal and Compliance can engage with the business. It goes beyond just reviewing contracts or responding to queries; it seeks highly motivated individuals who are eager to be more deeply involved with business activities. Your Opportunities
Structuring, negotiating, and advising on commercial transactions, and collaborating with policy, regulatory, business, and product teams to review and shape legislation.Handling corporate housekeeping matters based on the Companies Act (e.g., holding general meetings of shareholders and board meetings, creating minutes, amending the company's articles of incorporation, registering changes, etc.)Deliver subject matter expertise by advising on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate and commercial matters, competition law, corporate governance, employment law, intellectual property and technology law, digital product licence terms and conditions, data protection and privacy law, biotech law, competition law, tax law, risk and contract management, and dispute resolution.Coordinate and monitor legal matters handled by outside counsels, and ensure that the legal panel is updated based on organisational needs.Contribute to communities of practice and working groups.Handling litigation (investigating facts, coordinating with representing attorneys, and assisting attorneys)Addressing legal issues as the sole focal point of contact to the external lawyers and managing the law firm panel. A key member of Roche’s APAC Legal Network, he/she will contribute actively to various communities of practice and working groups.Design, represent and implement enterprise-wide compliance strategy, objectives and initiatives, based on the Group and Divisional compliance priorities as well as decisions of the Core Compliance Team, in close cooperation with leadership.Refine, monitor, and ensure implementation of Roche’s Compliance Program in response to changes in the law, consult with department/program representatives to ensure programs effectiveness and support such efforts.Drive a culture of compliance with appropriate tone from the top by senior company leaders.Serve as the subject matter expert for the organization in compliance matters as the enterprise-wide Compliance Officer, driving and actively contributing from compliance perspective to any local initiatives as well as overseeing the development, review, updating, and implementation of compliance programs along with policies, procedures, business practices, and guidelines that are compliant with local laws and regulations.Key enabler of sustainable business operations by providing highest quality compliance advice that includes the identification, management and improvement of key compliance risks across the organization to support risk management and compliance assurance.Accountable for the performance of compliance risk assessments and related ongoing compliance monitoring and auditing activities. Respond to alleged violations of law, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and the Code of Conduct, and ensure proper reporting of violations (or possible violations) in accordance with law and regulatory requirements, as well as Roche internal processes.Lead compliance investigations in Vietnam Diagnostics.Proactively work with stakeholders to recognize and analyze the root cause of non-compliance, or specific challenges and concerns about achieving compliance in order to identify appropriate remediation measures or solutions for the organization to implement.

Must-have Legal Bachelor's degree or higherOver 7years of leadership experience as an inhouse legal and compliance role Hold the Bar Qualification Previous experience working in the medical devices industry will be well regarded.Experiencein reporting to regional/global organizations.
