We're making every move count Kalmar is looking for an Oceania Region Head to drive our strategy in technology and supply chain transportation, deepen customer-centricity, foster collaboration, and grow our business. Reporting to the AMEA Region Head and part of the AMEA Leadership Team, the Head of Oceania will also lead the Oceania Leadership Team, which includes Mobile Solution Sales, Service Sales and Service Operations. Also, the Head of Oceania is responsible for implementing the Kalmar approach and harmonized sales and offering development processes that are developed on a global scale to serve our customers better. Local Finance and HR report a dotted line to the Head of Oceania. The position is preferably located in Melbourne or Sydney in Australia. Strategic Leadership and Execution + Develop and implement a Kalmar Oceania sales strategy. Ensure alignment of the same with Kalmar's overarching strategy as well as with each individual Divisional strategies. + Communicate the strategy clearly and consistently to the team, providing direction and focus enabling an efficient execution. 2. Sales, Marketing, and Market Expansion + Lead and drive sales, services, and marketing activities to meet and exceed set targets. + Identify and pursue opportunities to expand market share and develop new business in Oceania. 3. Profit & Loss and Financial Management + Establish and manage annual budgets, ensuring financial targets are met. + Take full P&L responsibility for the region, driving sustainable profitability and growth. 4. Leadership and Culture Development + Promote a performance-driven, collaborative work culture. + Lead talent development, succession planning, and retention initiatives. 5. Stakeholder and Dealer Network Engagement + Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, and key stakeholders internally as well as externally. + Oversee the development and optimization of the dealer network in Oceania. 6. Customer and Account Management + Achieve and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction. + Prioritize and develop strategies for key accounts and national accounts. 7. Complex Negotiations and Collaboration + Support and engage in complex negotiations and executive-level discussions. + Partner with internal stakeholders across the organization to align regional efforts with global goals. 8. Performance and Compliance Management + Oversee performance and target-setting for the region, ensuring accountability and results. + Guide the region in compliance with corporate policies and leadership principles. 9. Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety (QEHS) + Drive continuous improvement in QEHS practices, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. 10. Market Awareness and Strategic Communication + Monitor market demands, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine strategy. + Provide clear and effective communication of the organization's direction and priorities. What you’ll need to succeed + The ideal candidate should have excellent interpersonal, financial, leadership, negotiation and communication skills as well as good technical skills and product knowledge. He/she should also be result oriented. + The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of experience in senior sales, service, and marketing roles within a global, matrixed environment. A strong understanding of customer value chains, coupled with a proven ability to drive growth in sales and service offerings, is essential. They should demonstrate leadership and change management capabilities, with a talent for balancing local and global needs. + Creative problem-solving skills will be important in addressing customer demands, as will a strong track record of enhancing sales, profitability, and managing customer and dealer relationships. The successful candidate will be a motivating leader who can inspire a high-performing team and drive positive change within the Oceania organization. + Experience with mergers and acquisitions is highly advantageous, as is the flexibility to travel extensively throughout Oceania and internationally.
