Job description

eBay has acquired Qoo10.jp business in 2018, to expand presence in Japan. We are looking for talent to lead Qoo10’s alliance marketing team of this fast-growing business. The main responsibility of this position is to initiate and lead alliance initiatives that aligns with Qoo10’s marketing strategy. One of top critical initiative for Qoo10 for the next few years is to strengthen its buyer marketing efforts to increase buyer awareness and perception especially among young women buyers in Japan. We have been committed to invest in this important initiative. As a result, we are one of the fastest growing marketplace in Japan and leading the entertainment commerce for GenZ buyers. The role of this position includes initiating and implementing various kinds of alliance marketing / co-marketing activities, both online as well as offline, that helps Qoo10 build a strong buyer perception as a trusted and trendy online shopping destination. The role represents a unique entry point into eBay for an ambitious and focused individual who is enthusiastic about retail business and would like to transition into operational leadership. This position will directly report to Director, Head of Strategy Marketing Division.

　

Responsibilities:

Propose strategic partnership ideas with local players and execute using own expertise and network in the industryWork as a people manager and lead a team of twoWork as various payment vendor’s manager and lead external teamsBuild multi-year alliance marketing plan to strengthen strategic positioningIdentify, lead, and implement alliance marketing opportunity to support Qoo10’s business growthDevelop marketing KPI and align with internal collaborators to move forwardWork with management to identify, document, quantify, prioritize, and implement current marketing strategic opportunitiesWork with local / regional partners to increase traffic to Qoo10 site and contribute to onsite transactions

　

Requirements:

Strong academic background: MBA preferred.10 years plus experience in consulting or marketing role in industry, prior experience in retail (both on and offline) preferred.Excellent Japanese communications skills both written & verbal; strong English preferredVery strong organizational skills with excellent cross functional communicationHigh resilience, efficient, and able to multi-taskSelf-initiating, persistentComfortable communication with senior executives - strong executive presenceCritical thinking skills + creativity.Quick learner with intellectual curiosity & a passion for excellenceAbility to handle multi-tasks to meet deadlines in a dynamic/changing environment
