**Job Summary:**
The Head of Stores is responsible for leading an outstanding store experience, delivering on all aspects of operational efficiencies, and fostering a culture of associate career development, through building the right team to support a high growth business in all Paper Source retail stores nationwide. This position is responsible for executing the business strategies to achieve sales expectations and other key metrics for all retail stores.

**What You Do:**
• Execute the retail strategy by creating a partnership with the Regional Managers and Store Leaders.
• Drive overall company sales and profit plans through successful leadership, customer service, and outstanding execution of all field operations strategies.
• Ensure operational policies and procedures are effectively implemented, and maintained to achieve organizational consistency and efficiency throughout the retail stores.
• Consistently achieve sales goals and profitability while operating within budgetary constraints to contribute to the overall profitability; ensure direct reports maintain fiscal discipline and operate within budgetary guidelines.
• Analyze sales results to identify opportunities for growth and take action to improve sales and profitability.
• Sets the tone for all behaviors and priority actions expected in the field that aligns with company expectation.
• Develop store visit objectives and appropriate action plans quarterly for the Regional Managers to ensure key business priorities are being reviewed for strengths and opportunities.
• Support and foster an environment of close collaboration with Store Operations and Field Leadership to work together to achieve retail strategy goals.
• Build partnerships through effective communication with Home Office support partners to assess areas of strength and opportunity across field-facing initiatives and work towards solutions
• Drive clear messaging across communication platforms to ensure organizational priorities are aligned.
• Lead by example - inspire, motivate, educate and mentor.
• Fair and consistent leader partnering with HR when extraordinary issues arise with people.
• Hold people accountable to perform their job functions and achieve expected results.
• Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations issues; identify appropriate training and/or coaching opportunities to ensure effective, legally compliant, and consistent resolutions are reached.
• Build a high-performing team through mentorship, development, and strong people planning to remain staffed in all stores and key areas of the business.
• Support Paper Source’s growth strategy by vetting potential Paper Source locations and providing recommendations on future locations.
**Knowledge & Experience:**
• 7-10 years of retail experience with a minimum of 5 years managing multi-unit specialty retail and managing remote employees
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
• Strong business acumen paired with the ability to adjust actions to achieve results
• The capacity to drive significant initiatives alongside building a motivated and high performing team
• Outstanding leadership skills. Inspiring interpersonal effectiveness to lead team, train talent and effect change. Track record of building talent.
• A solution orientated style to deliver in a fast-paced culture and have persuasive skills to influence others
• Able to balance the need of delivering a creative experience along with a profitable result
• Tenacious and process-driven
• Travel will be required, for approx.: 50% of time
