Head of Strategy, Governance, & Operations Excellence Global Manufacturing & Supply and Global Quality (GMSGQ) Ethics & Compliance

As Head of Strategy, Governance, & Operation Excellence for GMSGQ Ethics and Compliance, you will play a critical role in enhancing the effectiveness of the Ethics and Compliance (E&C) programme within GMS and GQ. This position combines strategic oversight, GMSGQ E&C initiatives/ Global E&C projects cascaded within GMSGQ management, operational excellence, and change management.  In this role, you will support the GMSGQ E&C team members partnering with the different Operating Units, region Japan and above site functions in implementing E&C initiatives. The successful candidate will role model Takeda’s leadership behaviors and Values, act as a strategic business partner, facilitating key projects and ensuring that all E&C activities align with our organizational values and compliance standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills and cross- functional collaboration experience, reporting directly to the Head of Ethics & Compliance for GMS and GQ.

The role is hybrid and requires you to be present in the office 8 days per month. Travel expectations are limited in this role.

How you will contribute: 

Strategic and Operational Excellence Leadership

Drive periodic review and refresh of our GMSGQ E&C strategy, based on the global E&C, GMS and GQ strategies and external trends, together with our GMSGQ E&C leadership team and key stakeholders. Ensure global E&C projects cascaded down to GMSGQ and dedicated GMSGQ E&C initiatives align with our GMSGQ E&C strategic goals and are executed efficiently. Implement and lead project portfolio management for GMSGQ E&C, including tracking, reporting of the GMSGQ E&C strategy implementation, performance and E&C KPI metrics.Provide leadership and expertise in the design, co-creation, and relevant support to GMSGQ E&C business partners in implementing E&C initiatives within GMS/GQ.Represent GMSGQ E&C within the GMS Strategy & Business Excellence (SBE) and GQ Strategy & Operations Excellence forums, and act as the conduit between these and the GMSGQ E&C leadership team.Represent GMSGQ E&C in key global E&C projects whenever co-creation and business functions expertise is required.Prepare GMSGQ Risk Ethics & Compliance Committee (incl investigations statistics, key learnings, other key emerging risks and mitigating actions, progress related to E&C programme initiatives and KPIs); provide input to global and GEC sub-RECC whenever relevant.Lead the onboarding of new GMSGQ E&C advisors, in collaboration with the GMSGQ OpU/Regional E&C leaders.Prepare GMSGQ E&C MRP and MYC.

GMSGQ E&C initiatives and relevant global E&C Project Management

Manage the full cycle of GMSGQ E&C initiatives and relevant global E&C projects management, from KPI work planning and milestone setting to monthly tracking and KPIs. Ensure GMSGQ E&C priorities are well known by Global E&C teams at the time of strategic and operational planning, aligning KPIS and objectives in order to ensure a manageable scope of initiatives delivered through the GMS/GQ E&C Business Partners.Conduct GMSGQ E&C initiatives and projects reviews and AIR (Action, Impact, Results) Reviews to assess the progress and impact of ongoing projects.Amplify and drive adoption of agile whenever relevant, including performance of retrospectives. Maintain GMSGQ E&C dedicated SharePoint site.

Governance and Compliance Oversight

Plan and organize GMSGQ Ethics and Compliance Leadership team meetings, including preparing agenda, creating, and maintaining action logs.Oversee GMSGQ E&C audits, insights gained from compliance risk assessments, monitoring and GMSGQ E&C investigations and monitor action plans to ensure adherence to internal and external requirements.Leverage from global E&C communications and tailor specific content for GMQGQ. Design GMSGQ E&C communication strategy and roadmap, co-create content and coordinate with GMS and QG communication teams to leverage from existing channels to cascade messages throughout the organization (16000 + reach).

Change Management

Oversee change management processes for global E&C projects and initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with organizational goals.Develop and implement strategies to drive adoption, including change impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, and communication plans.Contribute to the design of capability building initiatives for our GMSGQ E&C community network.

Capabilities & Experience:

Demonstrates ability to work and deliver results in a matrix organization.Works cross-functionally and collaborates effectively with multiple business stakeholders, demonstrating a high degree of influencing skills. Communicates effectively with senior leaders and collaborates well with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to interpret and contextualize rules, guidelines, policies, procedures, and controls.Sound and independent judgment when dealing with complex and sensitive matters and ability to partner with the business whenever improvements are required. Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects.Minimum of 12 years of experience in project management, finance, Ethics & Compliance management consulting, strategy and portfolio management or a related field, with leadership experience.  Experience in the pharmaceuticals or medical devices industry including experience within a manufacturing, supply chain or quality environment is an advantage.Successful credentials in designing and implementing Ethics & Compliance programmes, including knowledge of compliance laws, regulations, and industry codes relevant to the healthcare industry (e.g. FCPA, SOX, Antikickback Statute) is required.Demonstrated experience in managing large, complex projects with a strategic focus and a proven track record of driving change.Demonstrable leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, adept at managing multiple tasks and navigating complex situations.  Ability to zoom in and execute whenever needed.Bachelor's degree required, Business Administration or related field preferred.
