Head of Vet Sales

Job Description:

This role is responsible for leading the US Veterinary Business Field Sales team, which consists of 170+ associates. This critical role reports directly to the US Veterinary Business Unit General Manager and is a member of the Leadership Team with strong interactions with P&O, finance, marketing, supply, innovation leads to drive recommendations and growth in the vet clinics and IVO. This role has 3 + direct reports, leaders leading leaders and large teams (with the ability to grow) and is accountable to lead the overall Sales strategy for our US Vet Business to win in clinics. This role will partner with our Head of Strategic Customers to drive long-term value and growth for our business.   

What are we looking for?

Seasoned senior sales leader with strong knowledge of the veterinary industry and /or Royal Canin10+ years of sales, operations and/or marketing experience in packaged goods or in the veterinary or animal health pharmacy industry at a senior levelPeople (team) management experience leading large teamsStrong leader who has the ability to lead through influence to drive positive impact and resultsBroad Cross functional experience (finance, category management, sales strategy, sales, marketing)People leader who builds strong teams and delivers results through the team and strong KPI’s with strong accountabilityPet industry experience is an assetHigh learning agilityStrong Track record of delivering results through others, developing strategy, and executing priorities to deliver year over year growth/market share4 year university degree in related field or equivalent level of industry experience

What will be your key responsibilities?

Responsibility for engaging with key customers to drive nutritional recommendation and sales in vet clinics and in Independent Vet Online (IVOs) across the USDefine and lead sales strategy to drive long term value creation for nutritional recommendation from veterinarians and Royal Canin including the Mars ecosystemIncrease Vet category and grow Royal Canin market shareLead Vet DMR – Vet forecasting for Supply ChainDevelop meaningful set of qualitative KPIs to lead the sales forceDefine and lead strategy for Independent Vet Online (IVOs) in order to develop subscriptions out of vet clinicsLead People strategy to shift sales capabilities, to create purposeful organization to better serve our customers and to be a sales talent providerBuild high performing team, hiring top talent, align on key priorities and hold team accountableEngaging large teams through a strong vision and purposeBe a key opinion leader and advocate for pet professionals and represent the US at key Veterinarian eventsLeading team through change in complex environment with changing landscapeDevelop meaningful collaboration with key stakeholders internally across the business unit, North America Leadership team including our Global teams and externallyPromoter of Economics of Mutuality within Royal Canin and In the Vet Industry50-70% travel required
