Summary of Position: Oversee all aspects of the Stunt and Cheer team. This person will be able to effectively manage the daily operations of the Stunt and Cheer team through effective communication, maintaining favorable relationships with a broadband of constituents, and being fiscally responsible through maintaining and tracking the budgets.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree.

Required Work Experience: Competed on or coached one of the following sports, stunt, sideline cheer, gymnastics or tumbling.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes, whose athletic and academic skills allow them success in GLIAC and national stunt and cheer competition and enable them to graduate from Ferris State University. Support and monitor student athletes’ academic success. Responsible for the design and implementation of team and individual practices. Initiate and oversee activities related stunt and cheer, fundraising, community outreach opportunities and spectator development projects. Responsible for the physical development of student-athletes, in association with strength and conditioning coaches. Commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the Athletic Department, University, GLIAC, and NCAA. Administrative responsibilities in the areas of budget maintenance, recruiting, record keeping requests from NCAA Compliance department, competition schedules, travel-related expenses, etc. Coordinate fundraising, camps, and public relation functions to create a positive image for the University and enhance revenue. Recruit, direct, and motivate student-athletes for success on and off the playing court. Provide a positive learning environment for the student-athletes. Maintain effective liaison between FSU instructors, sports medicine staff, and all athletic staff. Oversee daily practice of players to determine individual or team needs. Responsible for all administrative tasks to run an efficient program. Develop and implement strategies during competition. Reports to Athletic Director and his/her designee for all coaching and team duties. Supervise any additional coaching staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with University policies and applicable laws. Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information. Responsible for launching stunt and cheer program at Ferris State. Responsible for Fall and Winter sideline cheer. Demonstrate an understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. Perform any other duties assigned within the position classification area. Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives.

Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: Represent the university at conferences and seminars related to athletics and the sport of Stunt. Serve on university committees as directed by the Athletic Director and/or designee. Other duties as required by the Athletic Department.
