Job Description The Tarleton State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics seeks an experienced and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Coach of its women’s volleyball program. The Head Coach of Women's Volleyball manages program operations, and promotes the program within the University, as well as the local community. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).; Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate which includes evenings, nights, weekends and some holidays. Key Responsibilities: •Program Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the women’s volleyball program, including daily operations, scheduling, budget management, and fundraising. •Coaching and Instruction: Provide effective coaching and instruction to student-athletes in all specific technical skill areas. Mentor student-athletes in their athletic and personal development, emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline. •Recruitment: Attend events to evaluate prospective student-athlete talent. Maintain communication with prospects through various channels, including email, phone, and in-person meetings. Recruit student-athletes who meet the academic and athletic standards of Tarleton State University. •Compliance: Ensure compliance with all NCAA and conference rules and regulations, including but not limited to recruiting, eligibility, and program operations. Complete all necessary compliance and institutional documentation. •Academic Support: Collaborate with academic support staff to monitor student-athletes' academic progress and ensure adherence to academic standards. Prioritize the academic success and well-being of student-athletes. •Personnel Management: Directly supervise assistant coaches and oversee all staff disciplinary actions. Take responsibility for other personnel management duties as necessary to maintain an effective coaching staff. •Promotion and Public Relations: Promote the volleyball program to the public, media, donors, and the University community. Increase visibility and support for the program through strategic marketing and outreach efforts. •Other Duties: Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by athletic administration, including the Vice President and Director of Athletics and Sport Supervisor. Required Qualifications: •Education - Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university •Experience - Five (5) years of collegiate coaching experience; preferably as a head coach •Thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations •Demonstrated success in coaching and development of volleyball athletes •Strong recruiting abilities and experience evaluating athletic talent •Proficiency in budget management •Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written •Ability to establish good rapport and working relationships with student-athletes, coaching staff, administration, university personnel, and the general public •Computer literacy, including proficiency with relevant software and tools Salary Commensurate with experience and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
