4 Year Degree **JOB SUMMARY** The Head Women's Lacrosse Coach is responsible for leading and managing the Women's Lacrosse program, ensuring alignment with the college's values, the Department of Athletics, NAIA regulations, and conference standards. This role focuses on recruiting student-athletes, overseeing team operations, and fostering their personal and athletic development.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** - Execute all facets of the Women's Lacrosse program, ensuring that all objectives are met in alignment with the strategic goals of the college, the Department of Athletics, and the regulations set forth by the NAIA and the respective conference. This includes developing program initiatives that foster both competitive excellence and student-athlete welfare. - Actively recruit and retain highly skilled student-athletes who meet the NAIA eligibility criteria for the Women’s Lacrosse team. This involves identifying talent through scouting, networking at tournaments and showcases, and maintaining relationships with high school coaches. - Develop, monitor, and manage the program's annual budget, making informed decisions on resource allocation that support team needs, travel expenses, equipment purchases, and facility usage. Regularly review budget performance to ensure responsible spending. - Ensure that all student-athletes, assistant coaches, and program staff adhere to college policies, Department of Athletics guidelines, NAIA regulations, and conference rules. This includes conducting regular meetings to educate participants on these policies and monitoring compliance. - Oversee the conduct and discipline of student-athletes, addressing any violations of team rules or NCAA standards in a fair and consistent manner. This includes implementing disciplinary actions when necessary and providing guidance to promote ethical behavior. - Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan aimed at enhancing the visibility and support for the Women’s Lacrosse program. This plan may include engaging social media strategies, community outreach, promotional events, and partnerships that highlight the program's achievements.
- Organize and conduct regular team practices which incorporate not only skill development and team strategies but also strength and conditioning sessions tailored to enhance physical performance. Plan and oversee competitive games, ensuring the team is prepared both tactically and physically. - Counsel student-athletes on their participation in the sport, providing guidance on balancing athletic and academic commitments. Facilitate personal development opportunities that focus on goal setting, time management, and overall success in both areas. - Collaborate closely with Admissions and Financial Aid departments to effectively recruit student-athletes, ensuring they understand the collegiate experience and financial aid opportunities available to them. - Select, supervise, and conduct performance evaluations for assistant coaches and support personnel, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities to strengthen the coaching staff and improve team outcomes. - Monitor and encourage the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring they are meeting academic requirements and providing resources for tutoring and academic support when necessary. - Be prepared to travel overnight for competitions and other team-related activities, ensuring logistical arrangements are made ahead of time for the comfort and safety of the team. - Maintain a flexible schedule, working evenings and weekends during the competitive season as well as during special events or situations that arise, to support the needs of the program and its student-athletes. - Perform additional functions and duties as requested by the Director of Athletics, demonstrating a commitment to the overall mission and vision of the Department of Athletics and the college.

- Expertise in preparing and maintaining precise records and reports, particularly in relation to budgetary data.
- Ability to make informed administrative decisions and judgments.
- Proven ability to multitask and efficiently manage a variety of responsibilities.
- Prior coaching experience at the collegiate level or equivalent, with a successful track record.

The College, located on Plain Street, now Hampton, in Columbia, SC, opened to students in October 1859. In 1865 during the height of the Civil War, the College closed as General Sherman’s troops approached Columbia but reopened in 1873. In 1904, the College dropped “Female” from its name and moved to Eau Claire after benefactors Frederick H. Hyatt and Col. John T. Sloan donated land. In 1964, the campus survived a fire that destroyed the Old Main classroom building and the East Wing Dormitory. What remained of the columns became a symbol for the College and has since been incorporated into the logo.
