Join our team as our Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, based in Salford, Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and programs to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and best practices. We're on the lookout for someone with a robust background in HSE management, especially in the manufacturing realm, who’s not just experienced but truly passionate about creating a culture where safety and sustainability thrive!

Key ResponsibilitiesChampion sustainability initiatives and drive environmentally responsible practices within the company.Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement across all areas of the business.Provide training and support to employees on HSE best practices and local practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for prevention.Liaise with regulatory bodies and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements.Lead HSE meetings and drive a positive safety culture throughout the organization.Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.Collaborate with other departments to integrate HSE considerations into operational planning and decision-making.What You Need to SucceedBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Health and Safety.Proven experience (5+ years) in an HSE management role within a manufacturing environment.In-depth knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing employees at all levels.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient in HSE management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Our Offer to YouCompetitive salaryAnnual employee bonusEarly finish on Fridays26 days holiday + 8 bank holidaysEnhanced maternity + paternity leaveTraining and development opportunitiesEmployee wellbeing and social eventsAccess to 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme to support mental health and wellbeing4x salary Life AssuranceWork for the market leader in metal detection and innovationAbout Mettler ToledoMETTLER TOLEDO is a global leader in precision instruments and services.
