Dow College of Health Professions at Central Michigan University (CMU) seeks to hire a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track assistant or associate professor with expertise in the area of health informatics and healthcare quality improvement, beginning January 2025.

The ideal candidate is an individual with research experience in health informatics/analytics and patient quality improvement areas and one who can demonstrate teaching expertise in on-campus and online environments for undergraduate and graduate-level courses. The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct collaborative research, including chairing doctoral dissertations, participate in curriculum development, be involved in the assessment of student learning and programmatic outcomes, and be committed to academic excellence, innovation, and student success.

The starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience; an attractive benefits package and research support are available. This position is located on the campus of CMU in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Required Qualifications Earned dissertation-based doctoral degree (ABDs will be considered if completed by time of appointment). Academic training and expertise in health services research, preferably in health informatics/analytics or a closely related field. Experience in and/or knowledge of the healthcare field and professions. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: Experience and understanding of online educational learning and teaching. Demonstrated research agenda based on published works and external funding. Quantitative and qualitative research skills. Record of membership and activity in professional organizations related to healthcare. Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity. Effective oral, written, and data communication skills, and demonstrated leadership skills.

Desirable Qualifications: Previous work with students doing research, including experience with thesis or dissertation committees. Experience or demonstrated interest in securing extramural grants and contracts. Experience working in the healthcare field outside of academic employment. Interdisciplinary experience.
