Salary: $17.00/Hour Minimum Bargaining Unit ( click here (https://www.greececsd.org/Page/531) for contracts): AGCEP Contract Report Times: 8:00am - 3:30pm Daily Hours: 7.5 (7 Paid) Work Year: 39 weeks Supervisor: District Medical Director Civil Service Title: Health Aide Minimum Requirements: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Depending on the jurisdiction, possession of a certificate of completion for the American Red Cross' Standard First Aid Course may be required at time of appointment*. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT FOR APPOINTMENT IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND BOCES: Per Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and by Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Desired Qualifications: One year of full-time experience working in a clerical capacity; One year of full-time experience working with children; Strong computer knowledge; Strong interpersonal skills; Strong organizational skills; Must be flexible, responsible, and dependable; Knowledge of Google APs and Infinite Campus is preferable. Position Summary/Responsibilities: Records health information electronically in the student information system and files paper copies in health records; Prepares correspondence under the direction of the school nurse; Files health records and educational materials; Creates health records for new entrants and maintains accurate records for students currently enrolled.; Duplicates and distributes health-related materials, parent notifications as directed by the nurse; Provides assistance to the nurse when carrying out vision, hearing, and color perception screening; assists with electronic documentation of results and notifications sent home.; May record student absences from incoming phone calls and emails. Make calls to home concerning absent students; Downloads vaccine information from NYSIIS, contacts physician offices and community providers to get documentation of vaccinations. Enters the data with accuracy in the Student Information System; Contacts parents/guardians regarding vaccine requirements in collaboration with the nursing staff; Carries out first aid procedures for emergency and non-emergency care; Attends facility and department meetings as required; Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
