Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure divisional compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, as well as industry best practices. This role will manage the HSE handbook, facilitate training, monitor safety standards, and support a strong safety culture across the division. Key Responsibilities: + Chair the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and ensure follow-through on all action items. + Lead and coordinate safety-related training for employees, ensuring compliance with relevant standards. + Oversee audiometric testing and industrial hygiene monitoring, maintaining detailed records. + Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and coordinate fire safety measures. + Manage first aid and trauma kit replenishment, and support the maintenance of safety equipment. + Assist in developing Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures and authorize personnel to implement alternate methods. + Oversee contractor management, including qualification and documentation maintenance. + Manage OSHA 300 log and incident reporting; oversee near miss management. + Maintain safety data sheet (SDS) documents and facilitate facility inspections. + Lead and monitor the safety observation program and manage the Emergency Response Team (ERT). + Ensure appropriate PPE availability and usage across the facility. + Actively participate in regional and global HSE meetings and collaborate with corporate HSE for global compliance. + Coordinate and execute internal safety audits and prepare for Global Standards and Regulatory Audits. + Conduct new employee safety orientation and foster a safety-first culture. Qualifications: + Associates Degree or equivalent in Health, Safety, and Environment fields (manufacturing experience preferred). + Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety strongly preferred. + Certifications such as DOT, OSHA 501, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) highly preferred. + Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, custom equipment, or related industries; international market experience is a plus. + Minimum 3 years in an occupational safety role. + Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple safety-related tasks. + Ability to independently research, resolve safety issues, and ensure timely compliance. + Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) for engagement at all organizational levels. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety-related software. + Ability to work hands-on, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities. Job Specifications: Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and bend; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently. Visual and Hearing Requirements: Normal requirements for reading and understanding verbal instructions.
