Job Purpose/Summary:
Reporting to the site General Manager, this role is to support the business in ensuring the Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities are understood and carried out daily.
This role will support the implementation of proactive Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives at site to continually drive forward the positive culture.
Job Responsibilities/Key accountabilities:
Effectively work to the site Safety Excellence System including the maintenance of the system processes as well as the Environmental Excellence System Develop action plans and track progress in line with the WestRock HS&E strategy Support the management team with completion of in-depth learning events for any site-based incidents to determine suitable preventative control measures and assist in implementation of those actions Work with the site stakeholders, including operations, quality and HR teams to promote and drive a positive safety culture Organise and chair regular Safety Committee Meetings Identify compliance requirements, and develop a compliance framework to ensure all risk assessments and statutory requirements related to employee safety and welfare are in place with assigned responsibilities and control measures in placeEncourage and support the use of the WestRock Benchmark reporting portal for Health and Safety concerns, incidents, and metricsSupport and coordinate external audits for accreditations including ISO14001 and ISO45001
Qualifications
Minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards)Minimum of Environmental Training such as AIEMA (or willing to work towards)Knowledge, skills experience
Experience within relevant functions and ideally within a manufacturing environmentProficient in Microsoft Office Suite Programs including highly competent in Microsoft Excel
