This job role is part of the Public Protection department which consists of Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing and Corporate Safety. This job role is primarily health & safety based; dealing with complaints, consultations, investigations, potential court preparation, topic inspections and compliance visits for licensing applications. Experience in a recent similar role is required as is the knowledge to independently prioritise your own workload to undertake all visits and inspections. Key liaison with the HSE, HM Coroners staff, Emergency Services and the Essex Health & Safety Group in addition to other local authorities and council departments Minimum BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health (additional post qualification(s) in the field of H&S would be desirable) and / or a minimum of NEBOSH / IOSH level 6 Diploma in Occupational H&S. Desirable CIEH Member / Chartered Status and/or Cert IOSH /CMIOSHA Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check is not required for this post.
