What impact you’ll make

The Senior Site EHS Manager will be assigned to Turnkey Projects in the Heavy Duty Gas Turbine (HDGT) and Aeroderivative Business Lines. This Manager will be located at the Project Site, where construction activities occur to build power plants, and requires Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) firm partnership and contractor collaboration as well as customer and industry engagement. This Manager creates, implements and maintains the Site EHS strategy, as well as implements and maintains the EHS Management System, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, contractual and GE requirements. This Manager defines and monitors actions to improve EHS performance and leads Site EHS team members. This role requires high levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen to achieve outcomes.

Job Description

What you’ll do

Provide day-to-day EHS management for the construction project.Ensure effective implementation of EHS management system including Policy, Plan, training, effective risk assessment, inspection, auditing, event management and analysis, in line with GE standards and procedures, including the effectiveness of safety related processes owned by others. Monitor the effectiveness of the site related rules defined in the Site EHS plan and revise as necessary to keep up to date, in consultation with the site manager. Actively communicate on the GE Framework and ensure the site manager monitors and maintains site compliance. Set up and maintain the EHS training needs analysis and training plan. Ensure an effective review of GE and contractors method statement, and associated risk assessment against GE, Partner, Client and regulatory requirements, and verified by an effective subcontractor EHS audit program to monitor compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements. Ensure effective implementation of the site risk assessment process, Permit-to-Work processes, EHS event management (report, record, analyze), actions taken in the event of a non-compliance, EHS communication to all site personnel, reward/recognition and consequence management, stop work and open reporting culture, emergency plans, security programs and site access control procedures, maintenance of appropriate records and documentation, compiling all periodic EHS reports (Internal and external) in time and accurate.Provide timely information to the site management in relation to any trends that become evident through analysis, and potential legal exposure and EHS concerns including the effective Management of Change. In coordination with the site manager, liaise with the customer on EHS matters.Provide input to project performance reviews and prepare and submit EHS report as required. Liaise with the relevant EHS authorities and external services through partner or sub-contractor, unless otherwise advised.Review (and validate or reject) the assignment to site of sub-contractors’ EHS professionals. Actively participate in the continuous improvement processes, by providing EHS-related feedback to the site team. Intervene whenever site activities do not meet the established EHS requirements of the risk assessment / method statement.Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices. Utilize understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.The above responsibilities should be read in conjunction with the site specific EHS Plan and associated work instruction, guidelines and Gensuite/ComplyWorks deliverables.Global mobilization required: This role will be located at the Project site(s) and expected to globally move to a new Project site location, when the earlier assigned Project concludes.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, EHS Management/Sciences, Construction Safety or equivalentTen years of EHS experience at construction sites, power plants and/or in oil and gas industry. NEBOSH/IOSH level 6 Qualification or equivalent according to local legislationInternational/local EHS regulatory knowledge/qualificationGlobal mobilization: This role will be located at the Project site and expected to globally move to a new Project site when the Project concludes.English fluency
