Job Title: Health and Safety Specialist
Job Description

Our team is looking for a HSE Specialist III (temporary) to join them for a fixed period. You will report to the General Manager and will have an onsite work structure in Miramar, FL.

ResponsibilitiesSupport and develop OHS policies, procedures, and programs.Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics.Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventive measures.Establish a safe working environment according to legal requirements and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.Initiate and organize OHS training for employees and leadership.Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or noncompliance(s).Oversee installations, maintenance, or the building and disposal of hazardous materials.Work with relational HSE databases, spreadsheets, and presentations.Investigate incidents to determine causes and handle workers' compensation claims.Prepare reports and deliver presentations to leadership on site safety.Essential SkillsBS degree in occupational safety, a physical science, environmental studies, or a related field with 5+ years’ experience in EHS, preferably in a manufacturing environment OR 7+ years with an associate's in EHS preferably in a manufacturing environment.Solid knowledge of Federal, State, and Local employment laws and safety regulations.Knowledge of OSHA, Environmental, and DOT laws and regulations.In-depth knowledge of legislation (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.) and procedures.First Aid / CPR / AED certification / HAZWOPER certification.Strong ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with employees and managers at all levels while maintaining extreme confidentiality.Proficient in data entry and recordkeeping.Microsoft Office Suite experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in setting up FAA/DOT drug program for the facility.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Onsite work structure in Miramar, FL. Work schedule is Monday to Friday 8am-5pm or Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm (9/80 work schedule).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $48.07/hr.
