The Health & Safety Lead will support the Charlotte Manufacturing facilities (Bakery and Chip Plants). This person will be supporting the Company’s Health and Safety programs and fostering a culture of safety.
Off-Shift work may be assigned per EHS Manager.
The successful candidate must be employee focused with strong interpersonal skills, passion for safety and have experience working in a manufacturing environment, in a safety related position.
What you will do…
• Builds Relationships with Key Area Leaders.
• Attends Daily Operations and Maintenance Turn-over Meetings.
• Attends Key Area of Ownership Meetings/Gemba Walks.
• Attends Key Corp Safety Meetings - A3 Snacks, Machine Guarding, other.
• Leads Monthly Area-Specific Safety Team Meetings.
• Ensures that site Nurses are being supported.
• Communicates Safety-Concerns to Area Leadership.
• Treats employees who sustain minor on-site injuries and refer to outside medical facilities as needed.
• Works closely with the EHS Manager and Safety Specialist to recognize hazards and prevent injuries and assess potential health and safety hazards.
• Performs Daily Safety-Focused Work Inspections (LOTO, Machine Guarding, Fall Protection, Fire Extinguisher, Ladder, Power Industrial Equipment, Eyewash, etc.).
• Performs BAT/UDS Testing according to company policy.
• Assists with management of CPR/AED and First Responder training for employees who are designated as First Responders for the site.
• Assists with maintenance of record retention, and storage of confidential documents.
• Assists with management of wellness program/health promotion such as mammogram testing, health improvement activities, health fair, etc.
• Assists with hearing conservation and other Industrial Hygiene Programs.
• Assists in regulatory compliance with OSHA, Non-DOT, and other regulatory agencies/ departments to achieve company safety objectives.
• Assists/coordinates Safety Training and awareness activities with multiple facilities to ensure effective training, proper documentation, and recordkeeping.
• Assists with all in-house safety seminars prep and other safety-related trainings.
• Prepares weekly and monthly reports based on deadlines – utilizes MSOffice, Excel, Word, PPT, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned by EHS Manager and Safety Specialist, as required to meet need of the Campbell Snacks facility.
What you will bring to the table… (Must Have)
• H.S. Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years’ proven experience in a Safety role within a manufacturing environment.
It would be great if you have… (Nice to Have)
• Proven knowledge of Food Manufacturing and GMP’s.
• Associates Degree in Occupational Safety or related field, and experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven knowledge in various areas of Occupational Health, including but not limited to: OSHA Compliance, ADA, EH&S, HR, Ergonomics, health promotion, EMS, and/or education / training.
• Active CPR/AED certification with American Red Cross or American Heart Association (or willing to recertify)
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Proficient with MSOffice – Excel, Word, PPT, etc.
Compensation and Benefits:
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$48,000-$69,000Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
