This position is a (FTE) position at Vegreville Care Centre where you can be employed as an HCA while completing your HCA certification from a post-secondary college. Site consists of 5 cottages, 4 non-secure and 1 secured unit. 12 Residents in each cottage. HCAs are considered multiskilled at our site. Throughout the program, you will receive support, training, and mentorship from fellow HCAs and a professional team of nurses. The training program takes approximately 12 months to complete. The costs of tuition and training are covered by AHS. To be accepted into the program, you will need to commit to some criteria, including working in this position for 24 months at the time of hire. Description:As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team providing personal assistance including supporting activities of daily living and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this position you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities assisting nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety needs, assisting with organized activities or programs and observing and reporting on a patient's mood, health, and wellbeing. Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 1 year of Health Care Aide experience in the past 5 years preferred.
