Description: Job Summary:
Designs, implements, presents, evaluates, and educates on health education programs and services. This includes coordinating, planning, and delivering trainings or other educational encounters, maintaining educational and training resources, making updates to educational materials and courses, and collecting and analyzing data from classes and programs. Roles in this subfunction also assess and understand the individual needs of trainees, both from a classroom perspective and a broader population perspective.
Essential Responsibilities:
Promotes learning in others by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward; builds relationships with cross-functional stakeholders. Listens, responds to, seeks, and addresses performance feedback; provides actionable feedback to others, including upward feedback to leadership and mentors junior team members. Practices self-leadership; creates and executes plans to capitalize on strengths and improve opportunity areas; influences team members within assigned team or unit. Adapts to competing demands and new responsibilities; adapts to and learns from change, challenges, and feedback. Models team collaboration within and across teams.
Conducts or oversees business-specific projects by applying deep expertise in subject area; promotes adherence to all procedures and policies. Partners internally and externally to make effective business decisions; determines and carries out processes and methodologies; solves complex problems; escalates high-priority issues or risks, as appropriate; monitors progress and results. Develops work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; coordinates and delegates resources to accomplish organizational goals. Recognizes and capitalizes on improvement opportunities; evaluates recommendations made; influences the completion of project tasks by others.
Develops strategic plans to assess and understand member needs by: understanding and proactively identifying member needs, interests, abilities, and a variety of learning styles by leveraging member data, trends, and best-practices; adjusting education and training content and programs to meet the needs of participants, to create an inclusive environment which exceeds the needs of diverse individuals; and implementing standards, processes, and programs that help members find educational services that meet their needs.
Collects, analyzes, and reports on cross-department training data by: using the appropriate software applications to efficiently obtain and monitor data such as program results and budget; directing the analysis of training program outcomes department-wide and using the findings to develop solutions to member needs; and presenting data and findings from various education and or training programs to keep relevant parties informed about program effectiveness and cost, including leadership and stakeholders.
Advances education and training standards by: implementing new evidence-based education techniques and teaching methods in classes and training programs; ensuring members learn about the defined content area and leave the course with an advanced understanding of the course material and strong commitment to apply course learnings; modeling inclusive behavior inside and outside of the classroom to ensure members feel welcome, comfortable, and engaged; and using multiple techniques and mediums to translate complex evidence-based concepts into simple and understandable information for members to maximize learning and adherence.
Makes significant contributions to the design, maintenance, and update of training programs by: using data and the latest research to create new standards and processes for the design of interactive activities, assignments, and testing to achieve department-wide learning goals; consulting the latest research to ensure high-quality, culturally responsive multi-media health education materials are developed for multiple training programs; and evaluating the learning portfolio, such as methods, curricula, materials, and learning aids, to determine when changes to education and training programs need to be made, and implementing those changes.
Makes strategic updates to resources by: identifying outdated information and making significant, department-wide updates to multimedia health information resources; ensuring databases include educational resources and materials that are innovative and best-in-class, and making updates as needed; and executing on long-term vision of available educational resources and materials. Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum four (4) years of experience in health program development or a directly related field.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
Minimum three (3) years of experience teaching classes, or conducting training programs for groups or individuals, or delivering coaching or counseling in a one-on-one setting.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in healthcare environment or similar environment.
Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Counseling, Education, Psychology, Nursing, Nutrition, or related field AND minimum eight (8) years of experience in health-related education or a directly related field, OR Minimum eleven (11) years of experience in health-related education or a directly related field.
