Position Summary

Position is responsible for ICD-9 /ICD-10 and CPT Outpatient coding of diagnosis and procedures. Must be able to work independently.

Primary Position Responsibilities

Codes and abstracts outpatient records using ICD-9/ ICD-10 and CPT. Able to communicate well among all hospital departments. Uses 3M360 computer assisted coding program for coding. Meets daily productivity standards, along with meeting Team Goal for DNFC (Discharge Not Final Coded). Maintains current CCA certification and/ or RHIT  

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred: Associates Degree
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: 2 years hospital outpatient/physician office coding Preferred: 3-5 years hospital outpatient/physician office coding
License, Registry or Certification: Required: CCA Preferred: CCS
