The Health Information Specialist in intended to compile, process and maintain medical records in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health care system. To make available complete patient health information to authorized users in a timely, accurate & secure way by following appropriate HIPAA standards.\n
\n
Roles and Responsibilities:\n\nResponsible for accurately and efficiently filing pertinent patient information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system accurately and efficiently.\nAnswering of inbound calls and emails.\nProcesses requests for patient information by classifying accordingly (i.e. Physician Office, Insurance Reviews, Lawyers, and Worker's Compensation). Ensures the minimum necessary of protected health information (PHI) is used only for purposes identified or as required by law and not further disclosed without patient authorization.\nEnsures compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality laws, including HIPAA.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned or directed.\n\n

Required Skills and Experience:\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nGood computer skills\/Good organizational and time management skills.\nStrong attention to detail.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.\nMaintains highest level of confidentiality at all times with both patient and organizational information.\n\n

Pay Range Disclosure:\n\n$21.63 to $31.25 per hour\n\n
