Position Purpose:
Health Information Specialist II performs a variety of activities in the HIM Department by providing customer service, greeting patients and visitors on the phone or in person; reviewing and processing requests for release of information to patients and for continuity of care; and analyzing medical records for deficiency and quality Specialty: HospiceLocation : St. Anns Hours of office: 40 hour week weekWhat You Will Do:
Greets all customers in person and on phone and assists with their requests for health information.Screens all ROI requests (in person, via mail, fax, email and telephone) prior to processing. Ensures authorization, release, and verification processes are followed.Reviews, processes, and tracks requests for Protected Health Information. Sorts mail and distributes request to appropriate location or team.Maintains all necessary records regarding the disclosures and tracking of requested information.Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School graduate is required. Associate Degree in Health Information Management preferred.Licensure / Certification: Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator or Registered Health Information Technician preferred.Position Highlights and Benefits:
