Health Information Systems Laboratory Analyst I, II, or III

Overview Provides support and assistance to the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) which is operational in the Cherokee Nation Health Care delivery system, including but not limited to laboratory staff, health IT staff, contractual staff, contractual services, and management. Provides analysis in researching, evaluating, planning, coordinating, implementing, and supporting current and future projects affecting the LIS operational process in the Health Information Systems. Monitors LIS performance and Error Trap or Error Log and coordinates and assist in all debugging and cleanup activities. Researches and corrects all issues related to ordering or data processing or order results, and all data integrity issues. HISLA must be analytical and independent and cooperative and resourceful in order to provide leadership and support through-out the Health Information System. Qualifications Health Information Systems Laboratory Analyst I EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Associate's degree from 2-year college or technical school; or two years (60 credit hours) coursework from 4-year college or university; or three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Medical Technologist or Medical laboratory Scientist. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT At least two years experience in a related field. Health Information Systems Laboratory Analyst II EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in Medical Technologist or Medical laboratory Scientist; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT At least three (3) years experience in a related field. Health Information Systems Laboratory Analyst III EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in Medical Technologist or Medical laboratory Scientist; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT At least five (5) years experience in a related field. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Design software; Development software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
