Health Information Technician for Critical Illness Recovery Hospitals

Full Time / On-Site

M-F 8:00am-5:00pm (with some flexibility)

 

$18/hr starting pay rate

Responsibilities Assist in the maintenance of accurate electronic records to meet the requirements for licensure and certification.Record processing and physician record completionScanning and filing transcribed reports and other documentationDocument and data storage and retrievalRelease of confidential informationMaintaining confidential medical recordsRecord review and data collection (LTRAX)Use multiple channels to communicate with hospital administrative staff, nurses, physicians, and hospital leadership when needed.Answering release of health information requests received via email and phone.Logging and pulling health information for ROI requests

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GEDAt least one year of experience working in the healthcare industryAt least one year working in a customer service related fieldDetail orientedResourceful problem solverAbility to be professionally assertive when communicating with hospital administrative staff, nurses, physicians, and hospital leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

Health information management experienceKnowledge of HIPAA and Joint Commission standards Experience working specifically with patient health recordsFamiliarity and ability to work around different time zones within USExperience with release of information (ROI) and HIPPA Additional Data
