Health Physics Technician
\nAs a Health Physics Technician here at Honeywell, (internally titled Lead HSE Technician) you will contribute to the success of health physics and employees’ safety initiatives.
\nYou will report directly to our HSE Manager, and you will work out of our Metropolis, IL location. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of activities both indoors and outdoors on a compressed 12-hour rotational schedule alternating weekly between days and nights.
\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
\n\nEnsure compliance with Health Physics and site-specific standard operating procedures.\nConduct radiological release surveys of employees, shipments, vehicles, tools, and equipment leaving restricted areas.\nCollect, analyze, and report data related to surface contamination, airborne radioactivity, and plant effluent streams.\nPerform quality assurance and calibration of analytical equipment.\nConduct industrial hygiene sampling for hot work and confined space entry.\nProvide radiological coverage during emergency response scenarios.\nAdminister first aid and CPR as needed.\nSupport routine inspections by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC).\n\nIn October, 2024 Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.

\nThe hourly salary range for this position is $34 to $36. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE
\n\nHigh School Diploma\nAbility to wear negative pressure respiratory equipment\n\nWE VALUE
\n\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics \nExperience working at nuclear sites.\nKnowledge of USNRC regulations.\nCertification from ABHP or NRRPT.\nSix Sigma Greenbelt certification.\nExperience in emergency response, wet chemistry, or industrial safety programs.\n\nABOUT HONEYWELL
