Health Safety and Environmental Compliance Lead

We are now seeking an Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance Lead to join our team at Merville Barracks, Colchester. You will be accountable for full compliance and understanding of all company risk, reporting and governance processes within their assigned operational area. You will ensure that these processes are fully applied, complied with and adhered to within assigned operational business area.

 What you’ll do:

Quality Assurance

Undertake and document HSE audits/inspections to ensure compliance with required legislation and Sodexo Policies/Best Practice for, the projects team, service delivery works, service delivery and Soft FM contractor works Deliver continuous improvement by creating, monitoring and closing action plans following any audit findings. Ensure that all site Hard FM HSE documentation is recorded, in date and saved to the Hard FM SharePoint.

Health & Safety

Provide support and advice to the Hard FM team by reviewing H&S documentation. Enhance local operating procedures to ensure H&S compliance, to include the following areas; contractors, COSHH, noise, working environment (this is not an exhaustive list) Undertake accident/incident/near miss investigations as required for Hard FM and support with ICRL and soft services as required

Risk

Identify, work collaboratively to address, and escalate (as necessary) risks, to ensure all risks are captured on the register. Operationally support with the administration and coordination of all sub-contractor requirements. Provide an additional point of contact for all sub-contractor HSE matters. Ensure standards of service detailed in the service level agreement, KPIs and within the schedules of the contractual terms and conditions are achieved, maintained and developed for assigned operational business area.

What you bring:

NEBOSH Construction or equivalent NEBOSH General certificate or equivalent Experience of working in a construction/maintenance environment Internal Auditor Qualification (ideally ISO 45001) Knowledge and operating expertise in use of Microsoft Products (excel is a must) Able to provide understanding of data driven results to make key decisions and recommendations. Able to demonstrate a natural calm in the face of challenges and SME status amongst peers. Client and Stakeholder management skills Ability to work well under pressure. Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication. Excellent planning and organising

Desirable

Food Safety Level 3 ISOH/Safety membership at Tech IOSH level Experience of working within military environment
