The Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer is part of a team of Commissioning safety and compliance professionals reporting to the Commissioning Health, Safety and Welling Lead. You'll be responsible for ensuring commissioning programme adherence and compliance with all applicable statutory health, safety legislative requirements, identifying non-compliances and providing guidance on matter relating to identified non-compliances. The role is providing health, safety and environmental advice and guidance to ensure smooth operation, reporting and resolution of health, safety and environmental issues. You will also support the coordination of day to day Commissioning Health and safety management arrangements and monitoring between the Commissioning Programme and Pre-Operations Industrial safety team. Key responsibilities will be\:
Participate in maintaining and improving Health, Safety and Environmental performance in control of risks across the Commissioning programme. Review Commissioning RAMS and provide technical safety advice to Commissioning members to eliminate/reduce risks/hazards to people, plant and environment. Provide advice and support producing the relevant and appropriate Health and Safety performance reports, including identification of trends and early warnings of possible issues, recommending appropriate action. Establish and maintain Health and Safety risk profiles and undertake associated risk-based assessments, inspections and Health and Safety assurance activities. Be an effective and participative member of a team of Health and Safety professionals across the HPC Project. Support implements the of Commissioning H&S arrangements from the Health and Safety Plan during commissioning phase at HPC. Competent in using Microsoft applications and an aptitude to learn new software packages Ability to engage with others on health and safety, environmental issues and provide practical advice on how technical issues should be addressed safely.
