Your Role:

As a Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of safety, health, and sustainability while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards like OSHA. Your mission will include educating employees, investigating workplace incidents, and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety and sustainability practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety and Training:Design and deliver impactful safety programs addressing workplace hazards, fire prevention, and proper handling techniques.Conduct facility inspections, identify risks, and implement preventative measures to enhance workplace safety.Lead safety initiatives, including the Safety Committee, Emergency Response Programs, and Safety Coordinator Program.Occupational Health and Employee Wellness:Manage occupational health initiatives, including ergonomic assessments and infectious disease policy oversight.Oversee employee health services such as the Employee Health Clinic and work-fit evaluations.Administer First Aid and AED as necessary and ensure ADA compliance in accommodations.Sustainability and Compliance:Champion sustainability reporting and collaborate on environmental and safety policies with regulatory entities.Maintain OSHA, EPA, and BLS reporting while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Spearhead waste reduction, time-saving, and financial gain initiatives aligned with continuous improvement goals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required (Occupational Safety preferred).3-5 years of experience in safety and/or sustainability within an industrial/distribution setting.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard identification, and environmental sustainability practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, and safety reporting platforms.Certifications in OSHA General Industry, CPR, and First Aid.
