Period of Work: May-August 2025

The Center for Securing the Homeland (CSH) at MITRE supports the Homeland Security Systems Engineering and Development Institute (HSSEDI) FFRDC and the NIST National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) by providing independent and objective expertise to enhance mission capabilities. CSH collaborates with federal agencies like DHS and NIST to deliver innovative solutions and develop frameworks that strengthen national security and cybersecurity infrastructure.

Job Responsbilitites:

Engage in a project related to health security and supply chain managementConduct research, processing and analysis of collected information to derive insights and meaningDevelop recommendations and identify risks based on analysis

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Biology, Chemistry, Health Sciences, Data Science, Data Analytics or Public Health and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internshipSustained excellence in academic performace

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience having applied Health Security or Supply Chain Management to an internship or research/lab positionInterest and/or familiar with food and agriculture supply chains and Public HealthExperience in creating presentations (PowerPoint), writing informational pieces, and providing briefingsInterest and/or experience in researching operational security procedures to improve preparednessDemonstrated analytical capabilities and familiarity with Data Analysis and Visualization toolsAbility to positively engage with senior Government staff, technical peers, and MITRE team members.Strong writing and communication skills.Demonstrated interest in serving the public
