Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

The Health Services Coordinator Assistant  is responsible for providing assistance and support for the Center of Occupational Health & Education (COHE) program in regard to health services coordination activities.  The HSA will assist in the return-to-work process and barrier resolution by performing activities such as reviewing new claims, contacting claim stakeholders and triaging claims for escalation to a Health Services Coordinator (HSC) for potential intervention.

Essential Job Duties:

In collaboration with experienced COHE team members, HSAs will handle low-complexity claims in accordance with established procedures; make initial and follow up calls to stakeholders such as the health care provider, employer and/or injured worker after claims initiation to obtain status clarification related to employment, medical care and other claims-related factors.Monitor claims in accordance with established procedure/duration to identify, within scope of position, when intermediate to advanced health services intervention is necessary.Triage and respond to questions from stakeholders as appropriate within scope of position.Enter required and relevant information in the appropriate tracking and/or reporting systems, including the Occupational Health Management System (OHMS) or case management system and run reports as appropriate.

Education/Work Experience Requirements

Three years of related work experience in direct patient care, return-to-work coordination, occupational health care or equivalent experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.

Work Environment

This is a remote position; however during the first 90 days in person training will be expected in Tacoma WA.Occasional in person meetings are expected as part of the role for team meetings, L&I training, etc.Laptop, monitor, chair, mouse, headset are provided; all other items are the applicant's responsibility if working remotely.
