Summary About the Position: This position is located at San Antonio, Texas or Falls Church, Virginia. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Work with stakeholders at all levels of the enterprise to identify and recommend changes required to the existing EHR other system functionalities, and standardized workflows. Understand data and perform in-depth analysis use in reports, which includes using medical coding and changes to the International Classification of Diseases. Perform process improvement functions in support of productivity analysis, provider currency, resource allocation, patient care, examination of clinical outcomes, managed care support contracts, and the overall credibility of MHS data. Oversee development and execution of training material, guidance, workflows and policy. Serve as a consultant for communication with MTF stakeholders on EHR training, workflows, and policy. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: utilizing electronic health records systems (E.g. Military Health System (MHS), Genesis, or Composite Health Care System (CHC); aiding in the analysis of electronic health records data; assisting with training needs; and providing briefings to leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Health Policy Planning Support Health Systems Analysis Health Systems Data Management Healthcare Operations Administration Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest. Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 4 years by a current permanent Defense Health Agency employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition. Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 4 years, if the candidate is not a current permanent Defense Health Agency employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. Current federal civilian employees may apply for this position and if selected, a break in service of at least 3 calendar days may be required prior to appointment to this position.
