Summary About the Position: This position is location in San Antonio, Texas with the Defense Health Agency Central Network. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities Provide health system expertise on health care programs and policies. Serve as advisor to management and as a principal representative to healthcare and business optimization. Analyze administrative and clinical delivery systems to develop strategic focus for management team decisions. Provide technical and administrative oversight for clinical administrators and Service Line Business Directors. Prepare reports and proposals for submission to all levels. Evaluate the policies, procedures, and systems to monitor utilization of healthcare services and clinics/departments that are mutually beneficial and cost effective for the beneficiary and the government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Group Practice Management of scheduling, templating, and utilization; 2) Managing resource programs in healthcare operations; 3) Analyzing healthcare delivery metrics or cost-of-care trends; 4) Recommending policies to improve healthcare delivery or organizational structure efficiencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
