South Pointe Hospital's Emergency Department has 22 beds and provides 24/7 emergency services, ranging from minor injuries to critical and resuscitative care, to more than 35,000 patients of all ages each year. Known for their collaborative, team-based approach, this department strives to be the best place to receive care and is focused on providing an environment for caregivers to learn and become experts in their field. **A caregiver in this position works variable shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am or 7:30am-7:30pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. + Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. + Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. + Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. + Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. + Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High school diploma or GED. + 1 year of experience in a customer service-related role. + Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + College degree. + Microsoft Office experience.
