Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Health Unit Coordinator/Emergency Department/Urgent Care Technician (HUC/ED/UCT) receives direction regarding work assignments from the Emergency Department (ED) Charge Nurse. The HUC/EDT performs direct and indirect patient care tasks and unit clerical duties to assist in the function of the medical team and to help meet patient and family needs during their time in the ED.

WORK SHIFT

This position will work 36 hours every Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will be paid an additional 18 hours of Baylor pay. In the Weekend/Baylor program, employees are required to work 36 hours from Friday at 6:00 am to Monday at 8:00 am.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Must have or has had a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, or Emergency Medical technician (EMT) awarded by the State of Wisconsin, or Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) program.

Preferred/Optional: Certified nursing assistant (CNA) experience.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required: None

Preferred/Optional: Experience working as a nursing assistant and unit/or coordinator in a hospital setting.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: Must have or have had a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification and license awarded by the State of Wisconsin as applicable. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.

Primary work will be in the HUC duties 0800-2000
