Cleveland Clinic's G80 Internal Medicine Unit cares for internal medicine and telemetry patients, behavioral health patients, patients with nutritional insufficiencies, and patients with other medical conditions, such as congestive heart failure, diabetes, sepsis and GI bleeds. Caregivers in this unit are exposed to more than just one specialization, which fosters strong assessments skills, a wealth of clinical knowledge and continuous learning. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in pursuing a long-term career in an ICU or the ED as this unit cultivates well-rounded caregivers in a diverse, team-oriented and fast-paced environment. To support a healthy team environment, G80 holds quarterly events outside of work (bowling, baseball games, etc.) and has self-scheduling. **A caregiver in this position works 7:00am--7:30pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. + Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. + Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. + Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. + Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. + Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High school diploma or GED. + 1 year of experience in a customer service-related role. + Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + College degree. + Microsoft Office experience.
