Description Healthcare Account Specialist Coordinator, Professional Billing Location: Colorado Department: UCHlth Professional Billing FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Days Pay: $20.87 - $27.13 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience Summary:This is a full-time, hourly, Days position on UCHealth's Professional Billing team. Must reside in Colorado. Must be able to work 80% of the time remote and 20% office. Remote equipment must be supplied by candidate. Under general supervision of the Supervisor, the candidate will be expected to be versatile in all areas of responsibility and accommodate numerous situational types including, but not limited to: insurance verification and registration, authorization, denials, and appeals. Coordinates assigned employee duties and manages staff work queues. Trained in all areas of collector follow-up/billing. Assists in and monitors the training of new hires. Works collaboratively with and may present to other department leads, supervisors, and managers. Must also be able to maintain collector/billing duties. Skills and Abilities: Background of insurance benefit plans and registration, explanation of benefits, and denials management. Work adequately with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel). Skill sets to include 10-key by touch, typing a minimum of 65 words per minute (WPM) and, basic skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical thinking, high level of computer accuracy, and organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize work activities and requirements with minimal supervision, in an individual and team setting to meet department metrics. Must be detail oriented and well organized. Easily adapt to change. Ability to utilize various software applications and information systems to perform work processes. Must have the ability to lead a team and prioritize work activities with minimal supervision Responsibilities: • Provides administrative support to include but not limited to time and attendance, trackers, and other duties as assigned • Monitors and works work queues • Quality Control and Quality Assurance - reviews monthly and quarterly QA audits in adherence to expectation set forth by Department Policies and Procedures. • Delegates job assignments and monitors work flow. Monitors and tracks employee daily assignments. • Submit ITSMs and work closely with EPIC staff to resolve issue as needed. • Update and maintain department Policies and Procedures manual. • Staff work queues during shortages due to PTO and FMLA. • Attends monthly regularly scheduled department and leadership meetings, huddles, and one-on-ones with staff/Supervisor/Manger and passes information to the follow-up/billing teams in a timely and effective manner. • Acts as liaison support between the Physician Business Services departments and third-party payers and other UCHealth departments. Address issues and uphold high level of customer service amongst follow-up/billing staff at all times. • Works with and under the direction of the Follow-Up/Billing Supervisor and promotes positive interpersonal (customer) relationships with fellow employees, physicians, and patients. Consistently displays courteous and respectful verbal and non-verbal communications. • Works with follow-up/billing Supervisor to recognize positive behavior and contributions to the organization using praise, appreciation and rewards. • Assists Supervisor in training & coaching staff to meet departmental goals and requirements. • Works with Follow Up/Billing Supervisor to actively identify and escalate system problems and opportunities for improvement; identifies appropriate solution and escalates to the appropriate department. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements: + + High School Diploma or GED + 2 years of related experience in healthcare registration/billing/coding. Experience in Professional billing required with minimal knowledge of Hospital billing. Preferred: + 2 years medical billing experience + We improve lives.
