Healthcare Collections Representative (remote)

Summary

Assist our client’s customers with their open balance accounts to secure payment while providing customer service and keeping good customer relationships intact for our clients.

Essential Functions

· Taking inbound calls, acting as representative of the hospital, to arrange debt repayment based on patient’s financial situation and client repayment guidelines, via credit card, check or obtained insurance, and record all updates and acquired information on accounts.

· Understands and utilizes the HIPAA and TCPA talk offs on each call.

· Ensure all required statements have been sent on accounts handled and request statements as necessary.

· Properly handle all patient disputes, by obtaining all pertinent information and noting dispute on account and escalating to supervisor as necessary.

· Assists in making outbound calls when necessary.

· Performs other activities and responsibilities as assigned.

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Workdays are Monday through Friday, with four days 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and one day 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Eastern.

No travel is expected for this position

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma

2. Six months of customer service in related field

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Associate’s degree

2. Two years of related experience

Salary and Other Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is between $16.00-19.00 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

Education and/or Experience Associates degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
