About the department
We bring innovation within the commercial domains of Novo Nordisk Pharma Ltd., in Japan. Our burning platform are the changing dynamics in healthcare, affecting patients and healthcare providers, and the team’s purpose is to ensure that Novo Nordisk continues to be a value-adding partner in the broader healthcare delivery ecosystem.
There are three innovation tracks: Frontline, Healthcare and Patient - all of which are connected. This role in particular focuses on bringing meaningful innovation to the healthcare sector in Japan. The Innovation team is part of the New Product Planning & Business Innovation division.
The position
As the Healthcare Innovation Lead, you will develop new solutions with the overarching purpose of strengthening the healthcare system within the scope of Novo Nordisk’s therapy areas. You need to co-design clinical decision support technologies that enable healthcare stakeholders to treat patient more effectively while ensuring best use of healthcare resources. You will take part in the further development of clinical pathways, protocols, and integration of evidence-based practices, to help strengthen healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. Also explore innovative ways to deliver scientific education to healthcare professionals. In addition, you need to ensure strong collaboration with the external environment, including but not exclusive to healthcare providers, diagnostics companies, the local health data ecosystem, big tech and others.

Qualifications
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, business administration, or relevant field. University degree within innovation and design or IT is preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in the related industry (pharmaceutical/healthcare) is required. Experience in project management or agile methodologies and managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Deep understanding of local healthcare dynamics, including primary care/secondary care shifts, clinical pathways, diagnostics and health IT landscape. Fluency in English and Japanese is required.
