healthcare instructors to teach their proprietary Medical Assistant and Patient Support Specialist workforce training programs and other proprietary healthcare training programs as neededInstructors will be responsible for clinical skills and non clinical theory learning outcomes of our Dental Assistant program and will focus on student development and preparation for the dental fieldThe instructor will work side by side with clinical and non clinical instructors teacher assistants and program leadership to ensure that programs have successful outcomes and that students receive a high quality education that prepares them for the reality of working in a busy dental practice or community dental health positionThis role is in response to employer demand and may include day evening andor weekend hours Part time instructors will be responsible for communicating what shifts they are available to work and ensure that they are able to attend all classes that they agree to instruct Duties and Responsibilities Work collaboratively in a diverse inclusive and student centered environment with students of various learning styles cultures identities and life experiences Have a strong grasp of classroom management methodologies conduct themselves professionally in a classroom setting and fairly apply college policies regarding student performance and conduct Communicate curriculum utilizing a variety of teaching methods so that learning occurs skills are developed and students are motivated to learn and achieve their educational and employment objectives Deliver lesson plans as written and provide supplemental material to achieve course objectives and address student needs Integrate technology and active learning strategies to enhance instruction Keep detailed and organized records of students attendance assessments and progress including a final evaluation Collaborate seamlessly with the coordinator and other instructors in the program and attend meetings as needed Demonstrate a commitment to professional development Maintain all lab equipment and communicate equipment and supplies needs to program team Ensure lab environments remain clean and sanitary Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Experience in a healthcare or dental environment as a Dental Assistant or Dental Hygienist for a minimum of 5 years Experience in either traditional instruction peer training or on the job mentoring Interest in preparing and training the next generation of entry level dental professionals Intermediate digital communication technology skills presentation tools online meetings etc Experience with classroomteam management Excellent written and oral communication skills Proficient in the use of technology including Microsoft Office Suite applications Word Excel and PowerPoint primarily email the internet for instruction and program purposes and willingness to experiment with and learn new technologies Creativity and flexibility in the classroom are expected and following the approved curriculum is essential Expertise in Medical Insurance Billing amp Coding requirements Competencies Associates Degree or above Experience working with diverse populations Experience in a dental or healthcare environment dentalmedical Teaching experience in similar post secondary programs Nationally recognized certifications in Medical Insurance Billing amp Coding American Academy of Professional Coders Certified Professional Coder CPC National Health Care Association NHA Certified Billing and Coding and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist strongly Reports To Director of Industry Partnerships Campus Location Primarily located at the Warwick Campus Full timePart time Part Time Shift Days and Additional Work Schedule
