Position Title Healthcare Instructor Department Workforce Partnerships Position Category TemporaryPart time About CCRI The Community College of Rhode Island is New Englands largest community college and a nationally recognized leader in catalyzing student success and achievement for recent high school graduates and returning adults alike We provide affordable open access to higher education and we deliver on our mission to offer all students the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for intellectual professional and personal growthDiversity is our strength We champion equity and we celebrate support and thrive on the diverse experiences backgrounds and perspectives that are represented across our four campuses We strive to hire and retain culturally competent faculty and staff whose demographics are reflective of our diverse student body To learn more about our employees values and what it means to work here learn about our Guiding Principles here Job Summary The Division of Workforce Partnerships is looking for healthcare instructors to teach their proprietary Medical Assistant workforce training program and other proprietary healthcare training programs as needed Instructors are currently needed in clinical skills and non clinical instructing roles with expertise in Medical Assisting or nursingThe instructor will be responsible for clinical skills and non clinical theory learning outcomes of our Medical Assistant program and will focus on student development and preparation for the healthcare fieldThe instructor will work side by side with clinical and non clinical instructors teacher assistants and program leadership to ensure that programs have successful outcomes and that students receive a high quality healthcare educationThis role is in response to employer demand and can include day evening andor weekend hours The healthcare instructor will be responsible for communicating what shifts they are available to work and ensure that they are able to attend all classes that they agree to instruct Duties and Responsibilities Work collaboratively in a diverse inclusive and student centered environment with students of various learning styles cultures identities and life experiences Have a strong grasp of classroom management methodologies conduct themselves professionally in a classroom setting and fairly apply college policies regarding student performance and conduct Communicate curriculum utilizing a variety of teaching methods so that learning occurs skills are developed and students are motivated to learn and achieve their educational and employment objectives Deliver lesson plans and provide supplemental material to achieve course objectives and address student needs Integrate technology and active learning strategies to enhance instruction Keep detailed and organized records of students attendance assessments and progress including a final evaluation Collaborate with the coordinator and other instructors in the program and attend meetings as needed Demonstrate a commitment to professional development Maintain all lab equipment Ensure lab environments remain clean and sanitary Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Experience in a healthcare environment as a Medical Assistant Certified Nursing Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN for a minimum of 5 years Experience in either traditional instruction peer training or on the job mentoring Interest in preparing and training the next generation of entry level medical support staff Intermediate digital communication technology skills presentation tools online meetings etc Experience with classroomteam management Excellent written and oral communication skills Proficient in the use of technology including Microsoft Office Suite applications Word Excel and PowerPoint primarily email the internet for instruction and program purposes Creativity and flexibility in the classroom are expected and following the approved curriculum is essential Competencies Associates Degree or above Experience working with a diverse student population Experience in a healthcare environment medical or medical administration Teaching experience in similar post secondary programs Reports To Workforce Coordinator Campus Location All Campuses Full timePart time Part Time Shift Days and Additional Work Schedule Information Days and Shift will vary depending on departmental needs Work Schedule Other Benefits No SalaryHourly Rate Anticipated starting salary 4880 Additional Salary Information Licenses Tools and Equipment Environmental Conditions Desired Start Date ASAP Position End Date if temporary or grant
