Job Summary: The REOC is currently accepting applications for a 12 month Healthcare Lecturer. Under the direct supervision of the Nursing Assistant Coordinator, the Healthcare Lecturer has the responsibility of teaching twenty contact hours per week in the Sterile Processing and Nursing Assistant programs. This includes classroom, lab, and clinical instruction. Other key job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: reviewing and planning course content and course information sheets. Curriculum planning and review along with lesson planning, grading, evaluating and guiding student's learning experiences. The person in this role will participate in the selection of textbooks, course materials, and computer software. Reporting job and college placements as well as engaging in academic advisement. The expectation for this person will also be to attend REOC staff and Healthcare department meetings and participating in ongoing professional development. They will also keep four office hours per week and serving on a minimum of two center-wide committees.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in the clinical setting, or professional practice setting specific to their area of expertise.
+ Effective teaching and/or training for a minimum of 1 year to an adult population in the area of healthcare.
+ Knowledge of New York State regulations regarding licensure.
+ Effective interpersonal skills to work with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
+ Competency and knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office applications, virtual meeting applications, Banner, and Blackboard.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s Degree in a related field by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
+ Demonstrated experience in healthcare.
+ Experience teaching in healthcare.
+ Experience teaching adult learners.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm
Salary and Benefits: The Minimum Salary for this position is $57,899.
